Why session notes matter more than coaches think
Session notes are the memory of the coaching relationship. Without them, every week starts from zero. With them, the next session begins where the last one ended.
A solo coach with 15 active clients is holding 15 parallel storylines. The client who is finally serving with topspin. The student who plateaued on the same etude for three weeks. The runner whose knee flared up last Thursday. No one remembers all of that in real time.
Good notes are not for compliance or paperwork. They are the reason a coach can walk on court, into the studio, into the gym, and pick up exactly where they left off. That is the moment clients remember. That is what gets you referrals.
