Best apps for tennis coaches

A tennis coach looking for an app might need player records, a booking link, video analysis or new student enquiries. Those are different jobs. Start with the job you need done, then compare the right tools.

How we researched these apps

Another Session publishes this guide and is one of the products compared. We grouped products by their documented purpose, not by a universal score, and describe each one by the job it is built for.

We checked official feature and pricing pages on 1 November 2026. This is vendor-verified research, not a laboratory review or a claim that we tested every app. Sources are linked in the table and product sections. No independent customer evidence or permissioned testimonials are included.

Prices can change. Some features require paid plans; some vendors display annual prices as monthly equivalents. Not verified means the evidence we checked did not establish a capability, not that the capability is absent. Different purposes should not be judged as identical subscriptions.

Another Session, recurring player records

Another Session keeps a recurring player’s contact details, focus, lessons, notes, packages and payment position together. You arrange the lessons yourself. It runs in a browser on phone and laptop, rather than providing a public booking marketplace.

It suits coaches who see the same players regularly and want the last note to hand before the next lesson. You can dictate notes, track session or time packages, schedule small groups with individual charges, keep guardian contact details and review progress-summary drafts.

Clients can view shared information through read-only client pages. If you connect your own Stripe account, they can pay by card and those charges are marked paid automatically. Money goes to your Stripe account; Stripe charges its own processing fees. Bank transfers and cash remain manually recorded. Scheduled invoices are payment requests, not automatic saved-card charges.

It does not offer player self-booking, court reservations, tennis video analysis or an expense ledger. Free includes every feature for up to three client records in total. Complete has identical features and unlimited records at £8/month or £80/year in the UK, $10/month or $100/year in the US. Start with 30 days of unlimited clients, no card required.

Official evidence: client records, sessions and notes, packages, invoices and connected Stripe payments, and localized pricing.

Acuity Scheduling, appointment booking

Acuity lets clients choose appointment times, complete intake forms and pay through connected payment services. Standard adds packages, memberships, waitlists and SMS reminders.

Choose it when booking and prepaid appointments matter more than a tennis-specific player history. Its documented scheduling tools do not establish expense accounting.

Buying limitation: Packages require Standard or above. Tennis-specific court conflict rules were not verified.

Price: Starter $20/month or $192/year. Standard with packages $34/month or $324/year. USD, taxes extra.

Official evidence: Acuity Scheduling product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

CoachIQ, coaching business platform

CoachIQ connects booking, credits, subscriptions, athlete messaging and training content. Its tennis documentation covers individual lessons and academy groups with availability and capacity rules.

Choose it for a broader client-facing coaching business, or ask for a facility quote if you manage an academy. Court/resource assignments are staff-facing; athletes do not choose an attached resource during booking.

Buying limitation: The $99 coach plan is not a facility quote. Attached booking resources are staff-facing.

Price: Starter Coach $99/month. Facility pricing quoted separately; transaction and optional add-on fees extra.

Official evidence: CoachIQ product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

CoachCore, coaching booking and packages

CoachCore’s Basic plan combines a branded website, lesson booking, packages, clinics, payments and student dashboards. Pro adds progress metrics, programs, video uploads and analysis.

Choose it when new players need to book and buy lessons online. For progress tools, compare the Pro price rather than assuming everything is included in Basic.

Buying limitation: Progress metrics and video features require Pro. Confirm promotional terms and processor costs.

Price: Basic $39/month; Pro $79/month. Standard advertised USD rates, promotional offers may differ.

Official evidence: CoachCore product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

TennisBiz, tennis-school administration

TennisBiz is aimed at tennis-school administration. Its official pricing uses active purchasing customers, includes unlimited staff logins and describes automatic upgrades between customer tiers.

Consider it for a business serving many families. Ask for a demonstration of terms, classes and make-ups, and a country-selected quote. We could not confirm every operational capability from the accessible documentation, so the table leaves those cells unverified.

Buying limitation: Regional and commitment-based prices differ. Ask for a country-selected quote rather than using a hidden price block.

Price: Regional quote required. Biz50 covers 50 active purchasing customers, not 50 students; add-ons extra.

Official evidence: TennisBiz product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

SwingVision, tennis video analysis

SwingVision records and analyses tennis video. Developer documentation describes shot speed, depth and accuracy, rally statistics, highlights and line calling.

Choose it for on-court video review, alongside a booking or records tool if needed. Check device compatibility and the tier needed for your workflow. The US App Store prices below are not a worldwide web checkout quote.

Buying limitation: Check compatible devices, tier limits and line-calling requirements. Video analysis does not establish lesson administration.

Price: US App Store: Plus $14.99/month or $95.99/year; Pro $24.99/month or $179.99/year. Channel and country vary.

Official evidence: SwingVision product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

CourtReserve, racquet-club management

CourtReserve manages racquet-club reservations, memberships, events, lesson booking and billing. These are shared club resources rather than simply a list of a private coach’s players.

Choose it when you control courts, member access and programmes. If a club already handles those jobs, ask whether you can use its system before buying another club subscription.

Buying limitation: Club subscription, not a solo-player plan. Confirm tier inclusions, integrations and total cost.

Price: Official 8-court tier: $199/month or $159/month billed annually ($1,908/year). USD; taxes and add-ons extra.

Official evidence: CourtReserve product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

PlayYourCourt, lesson marketplace

PlayYourCourt connects players with local coaches and playing partners, and offers instructional content. Coach recruitment is available, but we did not verify coach commission or payout terms.

Consider it for new student enquiries. It is not evidence that a marketplace will manage your existing players’ notes, invoices or package balances. Court access still needs permission.

Buying limitation: Finding students is different from running your existing player list. Confirm coach terms and court permission.

Price: Coach commission and payout terms not verified. Player memberships are not a coach software price.

Official evidence: PlayYourCourt product documentation and pricing and plan details. Checked 1 November 2026. Evidence is vendor documentation, not independent hands-on testing.

Choose based on your coaching week

  • I coach 10 to 30 regular private players

Compare Another Session, CoachCore and CoachIQ for records and notes. Look at CoachCore or Acuity if self-booking is the main missing job.

  • I need to track packages and payments

Compare Another Session’s session or time balances, CoachCore’s lesson packages and Acuity Standard. Ask Calendly which plan supports prepaid meetings.

  • I want to update parents about progress

Another Session has guardian contacts and reviewable summaries. Check the actual family workflow in other products rather than assuming that a dashboard is a parent update.

  • I need clients to book themselves

Calendly for a simple link, Acuity for appointments and intake forms, CoachCore for a lesson storefront, or CoachIQ for a wider business workflow.

  • I need income and expense accounting

None of the checked evidence establishes a complete expense ledger for these tools. Keep a separate accounting tool. Payment totals are not profit after expenses.

  • I run junior groups or terms

Demonstrate your group workflow in CoachIQ or CoachCore. Ask TennisBiz to show terms and make-ups. Another Session supports small groups, but does not replace a school or club system.

  • I manage courts or several coaches

CourtReserve for club operations. CoachIQ needs a facility quote. Do not treat a general appointment calendar as verified court-conflict management.

  • I need video analysis

SwingVision for tennis shot analysis. CoachCore Pro also lists video features, but the documented functions are not automatically equivalent.

  • I need new student leads

Consider PlayYourCourt, after confirming coach terms. A booking link by itself does not generate demand.

An imagined week with 20 players

Imagine Alex, a fictional independent tennis coach. Twelve of Alex’s players have fixed weekly lessons, five use ten-lesson packages, and three juniors have parents who receive monthly bills. Two of the regular players also attend a small doubles group. These groups describe billing arrangements, not a claim about a typical business.

Alex records recurring lessons, writes a short note after each session and checks the remaining package balance. A doubles session needs separate attendance, notes and charges for each player. Another Session supports these records natively; CoachCore and CoachIQ document packages and groups, but their precise note and family workflows should be demonstrated before purchase.

For a junior, Alex records the player’s progress separately from the parent’s contact details. In Another Session, Alex reviews the summary before sharing it. A monthly invoice follows the chosen schedule after a two-day heads-up. Unpaid charges remain visible. Sending a progress summary does not automatically collect a bill.

At month end Alex checks received money against payment records and keeps expenses in a separate accounting system. Acuity and Calendly can support bookings and connected payments, but do not assume their documented booking functions establish tennis progress summaries. SwingVision adds video review; CourtReserve matters only if Alex manages the courts; PlayYourCourt concerns new enquiries.

Compare before moving your records

Use a fictional player while comparing apps. Try a recurring lesson, a package, one reschedule, a note and a payment. Ask for a demonstration of anything not established by the documentation. Do not upload private player details just to test a product.

Our private tennis software comparison concentrates on regular lessons. The coaching business software guide covers other professions and programme-delivery tools. See tennis player records in Another Session for the record itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app for an independent tennis coach?

It depends on the job. For recurring player records and notes, compare Another Session, CoachCore and CoachIQ. For self-booking, compare Acuity, Calendly or CoachCore. For video, consider SwingVision.

What is the difference between a tennis coaching app and club software?

A private coach’s system follows players and lessons. Club software also manages courts, memberships and shared resources. CourtReserve serves that club role; a solo coach may already use the club’s system for court access.

Can I manage tennis lesson packages?

Another Session tracks session or time packages. CoachCore documents lesson packages; Acuity includes packages on Standard or above. Calendly’s current documentation lists prepaid meetings, so confirm the required plan rather than assuming it cannot do them.

Which app supports video analysis?

SwingVision documents tennis shot and rally analysis. CoachCore Pro lists video features too. Check devices, limits and the exact analysis you need; a video-upload feature is not the same as automated shot analysis.

Which app supports expenses and business finances?

This research did not establish a full expense ledger in the compared tennis tools. Another Session tracks session and package payments, not business expenses. Keep separate accounting records for expenses and profit.

Do I need software if players already book through WhatsApp?

Not necessarily for booking. You may still want records, notes, package balances and outstanding payments together. Another Session works alongside messages and existing booking arrangements, without player self-booking.

What is the best free tennis coaching app?

Another Session includes every feature free forever for up to three saved client records. All accounts begin with 30 days of unlimited clients. Calendly’s free plan can suit a single booking type. SwingVision is free to download, but analysis tiers use in-app purchases.
